Final Reflection for CPD II

Presentation Showcase Reflection

Although my team was not selected to present at the showcase, I was still just as excited about the showcase. I had an amazing time watching each presenting team do their thing. All the teams were amazing and I believed it had caused the judges some trouble to pick out the winning teams, Nevertheless, I would like to highlight a particular team that really caught my attention - IHG. The team is from another seminar which presented on sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is a sensitive topic but the team is able to present it in a humorous yet educating way. Other than watching the team present, I also get to learn tips on how to handle sexual harassment.

Module Reflection

Looking back on this class, I have realized how much I have learned about communication. My first post includes a self-introduction and my aim to improve my writing through this class. I believed that through the blog posts exercise and the feedbacks from Brad and my peers, it has aided in my learning and improvement. I have picked up several tips on effective ways to communicate. This includes the 7 Cs which I feel that it applies for both verbal and written communication. Communication does not just come verbally and in writings. It also includes a person's body language. Other than the effective communication skills and tips, I have also learned about the different techniques used to manage conflict. I believe that the module is useful and applicable to me especially when I am about to enter the industry through the IWSP. My biggest takeaway from the class was to be able to befriend 19 ladies and Brad from the class. I look forward to future opportunities to work with the ladies again.

  1. Thank you very much, Jeaine, for this final reflection. I appreciate you identifying IHG as a team whose presentation you enjoyed. The topic is quite current, and perhaps bold. What about the presnetation itself resonated with you?

It also warms my heart that you were able to acheive some measure of the goals you set for yourself at the start of the term regarding writing. I'm also happy to see that it is the 'interpersonal element,' the friendships that you've gained, that is one of the key takeaways from this module.

You have been a key person in keeping the classroom atmosphere in our CPDII section lively, with lots of verbal input and positive attitude on display. Thank you for your continual effort, Jeaine, and best wishes as you continue your learning!
